Marc Max Jacoby

Marc Max JacobyMarc Max Jacoby is an Associate Professor of Music at the VanderCook College of Music in Chicago since 1990. As Technology Coordinator at VanderCook, he is responsible for all academic and administrative computers and networks, manages the college's web site, and develops instructional technology materials with the faculty.

He received his Bachelor’s of Music Education from the Berklee College of Music, his Masters Degree in Jazz Studies from the New England Conservatory, and another Master’s Degree in Music Technology from Northwestern University. He his is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Music Education at Northwestern University.

He's also the director of the "Dos Claves Orquesta", a Latin-Jazz band for Chicago area youths. Only in its second season, the ensemble has performed for enthusiastic audiences at the 2004 Illinois Music Educator's Association Conference, Hot House's Jazz en Clave Festival, Chicago Historical Society, Harold Washington Cultural Center, and area school jazz festivals. The program is sponsored by VanderCook's Community Music Academy, Latin Percussion, Vic Firth, and Café Bolero. Marc is a member of the Educational Advisory Committee for Latin Percussion.

In 2000, Marc and a fellow Northwestern University student formed Roxmedia, Inc., an educational multimedia development company. In addition to releasing their own line of products, they have developed instructional software for Yamaha, Play inTime Productions, Rowloff Productions, and Mark Wessels Publications.
