Wil Figueroa

Wil Figueroa Wil Figueroa is a percussionist with more than 12 years of experience. He has performed and recorded with such notable Latin artists as Frankie Negron, Brenda K. Starr, Ismael Miranda, Tito Puente Jr., The Copacabana Orchestra, Michael Stuart, Paquito Guzman, Son by 4, and many more.

Wil began his musical endeavors at the age of 19 when he enrolled in the Harbor Conservatory in New York City. There he learned to play percussion under the supervision of Jose Madera (arranger, composer and percussionist for Tito Puente Orchestra for more than 30 years). Harbor Conservatory allowed Wil the opportunity to meet and work with many of the top musicians and artists in Latin music scene during that era.

Since then, he has been a sought-after musician bringing a unique and aggressive sound to current styles of Caribbean Salsa music.

Today, Wil has put together an ensemble of musicians, all of whom have played with many of our top Latin artists, to form the Mano Destra Latin Jazz Band. Together they boldly blend the Caribbean rhythms of Puerto Rico and Cuba with the sweet sounds of Jazz, creating an infectious and powerful interpretation of Jazz standards and original music.
