Latin Percussion's Research & Development team shape the sounds of today’s
percussion. With a combined 38 years of experience, it’s the percussion
industry’s most prolific design team. Department Director
Ray Enhoffer, Manager Richard Simons and Designer/model maker Andy Krol,
each bring a very unique skill set, that compliment each others work. The
experience is truly a team effort. Their ideas come from a mindset deeply
rooted in percussion. Together they develop, refine, innovate and create
unique new percussion instruments commanding countless patents.
LP has a vast array of artists, the best players in the world, playing
our instruments. The R&D team work very closely with these artists
to generate product ideas as well. The artists also provide us with
constant feedback that allows us to constantly refine and improve existing
products, providing the best available products for the percussionist.
Every new Latin Percussion product is designed and prototyped in-house
by the R&D team. All testing, both musical and mechanical, is conducted
on our premises. The initial design is never compromised or limited
by current processes. Many times we challenge our various factories
to develop manufacturing processes which are new. We work very closely
with our factories around the world to ensure the product serves the
original intent, both musically and mechanically, when in the hands
of the artists.
Although LP products are often imitated, no one comes close to matching
the musical aspects and integrity of the product. Why? Because every
new LP product is designed, controlled, prototyped and tested by the
best Research and Development team in the industry.
