Dwight Muskita

Dwight Muskita, of Dutch and Moluccan heritage, has been performing and playing percussion since 1985. Originally self-taught, Dwight expanded his musical education by studying with Steve Boston, Eddy Conard, Nippy Noya and Mario Jaurequi. He further enhanced his studies, by spending two weeks at the Kahnawake Mohawk Reservation in Canada. Later, he came to the United States to study with world-renowned percussionist Ron Powell.

Dwight believes that great percussionists play from the heart and continually learn using creativity and humor. As an all-round percussionist, he incorporates the skills and techniques that he’s acquired into the many styles of music he plays, including Jazz, Rock, R&B, Pop, Latin and Fusion.
