Greg Garman decided to make drumming a life long endeavor at the age of twelve. Along the musical journey, he won a local drum competition in his hometown of San Luis Obispo, California.
Years later, his mother who also plays drums (even during pregnancy) encouraged him to enroll into the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California. While attending MI, Greg received instruction from world-renowned teachers such as Fred Dinkins, Rob Carson, and Chuck Silverman. Acknowledging his efforts, he was awarded a second place prize for the Stanley Clark Scholarship.
After completing school with an Associates of Arts in contemporary drumming, Greg set out on a series of nationwide tours benefiting the VH1 Save the Music Foundation. Currently, Greg is the drummer in Selena Gomez and the Scene. While off tour, he spends his time doing sessions, workshops and private lessons.
Greg has performed at Madison Square Garden, Staples Center, Nokia Theatre and many more arenas and amphitheaters in the US and abroad. The band Selena Gomez and the Scene has won awards including the Teen Choice Award for Choice Music Group 2010 and 11, as well as a Peoples Choice Award for Breakout Artist. Greg has performed on TV shows such as Jay Leno, Ellen, Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Years Eve, People’s Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, George Lopez, Americas Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars, Regis and Kelly and many more.
