Pete Escovedo Sheila E. The E. Family
As a child, Juan taught himself to play bongos, congas, trap drums, timbales, percussion, and other instruments. When he turned 14, he went from studying his father, Pete Escovedo, to proudly performing with him.
Juan has toured, performed, and recorded with many artists, including Prince, Tony Toni Tone, Patti LaBelle, Amerie, Chingy, Jody Watley, Lou Bega, MC Hammer, Lionel Richie, En Vogue, El DeBarge, Freddie Hubbard, Barry White, Herbie Hancock, Teri Lynn Carrington, Bobby McFerrin, Tito Puente, Cheryl Lynn, Raphael Saadiq, Bobby Womack, his sister Sheila E., and, still, his father, Pete Escovedo. Juan tours, writes, and records as a solo artist, with his father's Latin Jazz Orchestra, and with the E. Family: his father, his brother, Peter Michael Escovedo, and his sister Sheila E. The E.Family's latest CD, Now & Forever, which features guest artists Prince, George Duke, Raphael Saddiq, Gloria Estefan, Joss Stone, Israel Houghton, and Earth, Wind & Fire, includes three songs co-written and produced by Juan.

Legendary Percussionist Pete Escovedo is an artist who broke down the barriers between Smooth Jazz, Salsa, Latin Jazz and contemporary music. With a career spanning over 50 years, Pete is known worldwide for his live performances, session work and solo albums.
Pete Escovedo and his Latin Jazz Orchestra have always been breaking new grounds when it comes to playing live music, bringing talented and well known musicians together to perform on stage. Their shows attract all ages, backgrounds and nationalities who come together to hear incredible music, the memory of which will last forever.
In addition to recording 8 acclaimed solo albums, 2 albums with his daughter Sheila E., as well as the Latina Familia live album with Sheila E. and Tito Puente, Pete has performed and toured with many great and respected artist, such as, Herbie Hancock, Mongo Santamaria, Bobby McFerrin, Cal Tjader, Woody Herman, Stephen Stills, Billy Cobham, Anita Baker, George Duke, Boz Scaggs, Andy Narell, Al Jarreau, Ray Obiedo, Dionne Warwick, Marlena Shaw, Barry White, Angela Bofill, Arturo Sandoval, Poncho Sanchez, Chick Corea, Dave Valentine, Najee, Gerald Albright, Prince, Carlos Santana and none other than the most gifted and respected person that we will always call family, the legendary Tito Puente.

Peter Michael Escovedo III, Two time Emmy nominated Producer and Musical Director has earned recognition not only as a percussionist, but a producer, singer, songwriter, and television personality. Peter Michael (named after his father, percussionist and original member of Santana…Pete Escovedo) has contributed in countless world tours, recordings and television production. He's created, directed, and produced television shows, written music for film, theme songs for television, composed, arranged, and produced music for various artists.
