Gabi King's LP Percussion Rig Rundown

Before headlining Glastonbury with The 1975, LP artist Gabi King took a moment during soundcheck to give us a rundown of her rig. Learn more about the LP instruments in Gabi's setup below.

At the center of Gabi's rig are three LP Giovanni Palladium congas; the quinto, conga, and super tumba. According to Gabi, these stunning drums in this particular size combination "give such good depth, texture." The 32" tall drums are made of 3-ply Premium North American Ash and come complete with natural rawhide heads.

Mounted just above the congas is a set of Giovanni Bongos, and to the left, is a Stanton Moore Pandeiro, which she likes for adding accents within songs.

Gabi also utilizes a full set of LP Granite Blocks, "great for creating those melodic, percussive rhythms", as well as a variety of salsa and rock bells. All of Gabi’s LP cowbell models are precision-crafted in the U.S.A.

According to Gabi, LP Cyclops Tambourines are "the best you'll get." Her mounted tambourine features dimpled brass jingles for a drier sound, while her handheld Cyclops model features classic brass jingles (not hammered) for a brighter sound. Gabi also keeps additional tambourines at the ready, including a Cyclops with steel jingles for "moody type tunes" and some classic compact CP tambourines, great for musicians with smaller hands.

While she maintains a large arsenal of LP shakers in her setup, including the Session Shaker, Rock Shaker, Egg Shakers, One Shots, and more, Gabi shares her love for one particular type of LP shaker, simply stating, "The LP Duoshakes are absolute failsafes."

On this setup, a set of LP Chimes is always within an arm's reach, and Gabi says it's "probably my most used bit of gear on the rig. It just sounds so nice."

The Monsoon Rainmaker rain stick is another favorite. "It's really stunning, and it stands up on its own. It's great for those big emotional moments."

The 1975’s emotional Glastonbury 2025 performance reached new heights as Gabi delivered a powerful, expressive rhythm section that added feeling and intensity in key moments.
